A frosty windscreen can really throw off your morning. But with a little prep and a few simple tricks, you can clear it up quickly and safely. No drama. No cracked glass.

🚿 1. Gently Melt Ice with Water
If you’re in a rush, grab a bottle of lukewarm water (not hot!) and pour it gently over the windscreen. It helps loosen the ice without shocking the glass.

Top Tip: Only use lukewarm or room temperature water as boiling water has a high chance of cracking the glass.

💳 2. Scraping
No scraper handy? A plastic card (like an old loyalty or bank card) works in a pinch. Just steer clear of metal tools. They’re more likely to damage your windscreen than help. If you drive a lot in winter, consider keeping a proper scraper in the glovebox.

🧪 3. Homemade De-Icer Sprays
A homemade mix of vinegar and water (2:1) can help, too, and it may even slow down refreezing. Wipe this mix onto the windowscreen to quickly remove the ice.

Top Tip: Make sure to wipe before the residue once applied to ensure no streaking.

🧼 4. The Towel Trick
Before the frost even forms, cover your windscreen the night before with a towel, blanket, or even a flattened cardboard box. In the morning, just peel it off and there’s no scraping required. For best results, secure it under the wipers or tuck the edges in the doors.

TopTip: Parking facing east can also help by catching the first rays of morning sun to melt whatever’s left.

🌫️ 6. Quick Fix for Foggy Glass Inside
Turn on your heater and A/C together. Yes, both. The heater warms things up while the A/C pulls out the moisture. If you don’t have A/C, anti-fog wipes help too.

Top Tip: Crack the windows a little to even out the temperature.
