Set to be launched in October, the Barina hatch has a list of safety features that make it one of the safer cars in its segment, including driver, front passenger, front side and curtain airbags, dual front seatbelt pretensioners, front seatbelt reminders, Electronic Stability Control, a collapsible pedal release system and head restraints for all seats.
The Barina hatch has received a few design tweaks, and highlights of the exterior include concealed rear door handles, rounded, exposed head and taillights with black bezels and chrome rings, 10-spoke 15″ alloy wheels and an integrated, body-coloured rear spoiler. The wheels have also been pushed out to all four corners, helping Barina look well planted on the road.
Inside Holden designers have been used a motorcycle-inspired instrument panel with a large, round analogue tachometer set within an asymmetrical LCD readout alongside an easy-to-read digital speedometer.
Ice blue interior illumination and LED backlighting feature throughout, adding to the cabin’s upmarket feel.
There are plenty of storage pockets, and in the back, 60/40 split fold rear seats fold flat to give Barina a roomy and flexible cargo space. The Barina has 290 litres of space with the rear seats up, and 653 litres with the seats folded fully flat.
Pricing, full specifications and features will be announced closer to Barina’s launch in October.
