The new Mazda3 will be the first to feature the firm’s SkyActiv petrol engines, plus SkyActiv manual and automatic six-speed gearboxes, and updates to the interior and exterior styling.
The new 2.0-litre SkyActive petrol engine produces increased power, from 108kW to 115kW, and torque has climbed from 182Nm to a round 200Nm.
Fuel efficiency has also reportedly been improved by 20% over the older model (8.7L/100km for city driving and 6.0L/100km on the highway).
On the outside, the 2012 Mazda3 sports a new grille, revised bumper and rounded fog lights.
