Changes to the new GT-R appear subtle, but insiders say up to 13 revisions have been made, depending on the trim level.
The 2010 GT-R will come with slim LED lights/daytime running lights integrated into the grille, which has been windened for improved cooling.
Exterior changes amount to an improved coefficient of drag from 0.272 to 0.268 cd. A redesigned rear diffuser reportedly improves downforce by 10%.
Sources also also say more than 20 modifications have been made to the powertrains and brakes.
Also new for 2012, the Nissan GT-R gets two new exterior colours: Aurora Flare Blue Pearl (RAY) and Nebula Opal Black (GAG).
The option list includes new lightweight Rays aluminium wheels, a three-layer ultra deep paint process, and a few updates on the interior such as new seats.
