In tough economic times, the German carmaker sold more than 1000 cars locally, giving it a record market share.
Newly promoted Audi general manager, Dane Fisher, says the strong result reflects the introduction of the new A4 sedan and Avant wagon, the A5 Coupe range and an improved A3 range, including a Cabriolet.
This year Audi New Zealand will launch the Q5 SUV, A5 Cabriolet, enhanced A6 and allroad range and the re-introduce the S4 sports sedan and Avant.
In 2008, Audi reached its goal of selling one million cars globally for the first time. It lifted its volume 4.1 percent, from 964,151 to 1,003,400.
