The Audi Quattro concept was unveiled at this year’s Paris auto show, and is based on the RS5 platform that has received various updates.

It is shorter and lower, and the aluminium chassis and body panels, plus carbon fibre bonnet and hatch, all add up to a much lighter vehicle.

Power comes from a 2.5-litre engine producing 408hp and 480Nm of torque. The 0 to 100kph acceleration time for the concept is reportedly 3.9 seconds.

Sources say the Audi will go into production, and it has been spotted on the roads of Malibu recently.
