Audi will add a new model to its RS line-up when the new RS3 hatchback goes on sale next year.
Powered by the same turbocharged 2.5-litre five-cylinder engine as the Audi TT RS, the RS3 will reportedly rocket to 100kph in 4.6 seconds and only stop accelerating at a limited 250kph.
Its 335hp (250kW) of power and 450Nm of torque is mated to a quattro all-wheel drive and seven-speed S tronic transmission.
The car apparently has an average fuel consumption 9.1 litres per 100km and CO2 emissions of 212 g/km.
There will be a sport button to sharpen throttle response and unleash extra exhaust noise. Handling should be precise thanks to widened axles and 19-inch wheels hiding behind carbon fibre reinforced plastic fenders.
Goodies include xenon headlights, side skirts, dual exhaust system, leather sports seats and a revised driver information system with lap timer.
