Auckland, 9 December 2025 – Two of New Zealand’s most recognisable automotive brands, Auto Trader and NZ Autocar, have joined forces to create what they describe as Aotearoa’s new home of motoring.
From today, visitors to Autocar.co.nz will be redirected to AutoTrader.co.nz, where NZ Autocar’s full editorial operation is now integrated into the Auto Trader platform. Readers can access news, reviews, first drives, videos and long-form features alongside New Zealand’s most established vehicle marketplace.
NZ Autocar will continue to operate some core magazine content, motorsport coverage and subscription sales at www.nzautocar.co.nz.
From Research to Purchase – All in One Place
The partnership brings together trusted Kiwi motoring journalism with the scale of AutoTrader’s marketplace, creating a seamless experience that guides readers from learning about a car to finding one. Over time, editorial content will link directly to relevant vehicle listings, helping shoppers make confident decisions.
Proudly New Zealand-Made
NZ Autocar is New Zealand’s longest-running motoring title and largest independent automotive news outlet, producing locally focused content for around 250,000 monthly readers. AutoTrader complements this with an audience of more than 300,000 car shoppers each month, supported by a large email and app presence.
Together, the partnership forms the most comprehensive motoring destination in Aotearoa.

What the Partners Say
Ross Logue, Managing Director of AutoTrader, says:
“AutoTrader helps New Zealanders find the right car, and NZ Autocar helps them understand it. Bringing these together gives people one place to read, watch, research and buy – built on Kiwi knowledge and values.”
Richard Edwards, Managing Editor of NZ Autocar, adds:
“This partnership lets more people access NZ Autocar’s trusted voice while giving us room to grow, particularly in video and digital storytelling.”
