Lady Wigram Trophy race winner Earl Bamber says that going into Sunday’s New Zealand Grand Prix at Manfeild, he’s talking things one race at a time.

“Realistically, it’s the only way to do it,” he says. “It’s another weekend, another track and as we saw (in the Wigram Trophy race at Ruapuna) the TRS field is just so strong this season that I don’t think anyone can practically predict that they are going to dominate or whatever.

“Andy (Knight) was quick at the first round, Ben (Harford) was quick (at Ruapuna), then you’ve got guys like Daniel (Gaunt) and Matt Halliday who have done hundreds of laps round Manfeild.”

With a large part of the 3.033km Manfeild circuit now re-sealed Bamber expects lap times to plummet and he said he noticed the difference in the track during a test session on Wednesday.

“It’s definitely smoother where they’ve re-surfaced it and though they didn’t have any official timing…from what we could see from our own times it’s going to be quicker.”
