Land Rover is tipped to fit Jaguar’s new 3.0-litre diesel engine in Discovery and Range Rover Sport models later this year.

Jaguar has developed the engine from the 2.7-litre AJV6 and is fitting to the new S version of the XF diesel sedan. There are 272bhp and 237bhp variants.

It’s expected to make its Land Rover debut in facelifted Discoverys and Range Rover Sports, the latter with the more powerful variant. The Range Rover diesel will continue to be a V8.
