After months of teasers, the new 1 Series M has come out from under its covers.
While official details will be released at the Detroit Motor Show next month, we can tell you that at its heart will be a twin-turbo 3.0-litre N54 six-cylinder engine. It will produce 255kW.
The 1 Series M will feature a rear differential and braking package similar to the M3, and the only transmission on offer will be a six-speed manual.
BMW also confirmed a kerb weight of “about” 1500kg, and its flared guards make it around 80mm wider than the 135i.
