The luxurious BMW 6 Series convertible is a 2+2 seater with a soft top roof and retractable rear glass window.
BMW says interior space has been increased, thanks to the extra 75mm length, 40mm width, and a stretched wheelbase (2855mm).
Two engine variants will be available at launch, both linked to a eight-speed Sports automatic gearbox.
The BMW 650i V8 petrol engine with twin turbo and direct injection. Output is 407hp (300kW) and acceleration is reported at 0-100kph in 5.0 seconds with a top speed of 250kph.
The BMW 640i is a six-cylinder petrol engine, also with twin turbo, that will put out 320hp (235kW). Acceleration to 100kph will take 5.7 seconds on its way to 250kph.
Highlights include the iDrive control system, a newly developed chassis, electric power steering and optional integral active steering, drive dynamic control and adaptive drive as a option.
