BYD Auto New Zealand has announced six new dealership locations as it grows its presence in both metropolitan and regional markets.
The latest expansion will see the Chinese brand extend beyond its existing network of 19 showrooms, with new sites confirmed for South Auckland, Invercargill, Pukekohe, Wellington CBD, Wairarapa and Christchurch.
A major addition to the network will be the opening of BYD South Auckland on July 7. Located at 686 Great South Road in Manukau, the new facility is owned by the Andrew Simms Group and spans 10,000 square metres.
The site will feature a dedicated showroom along with full servicing and aftersales facilities, designed to support customers across South Auckland and the wider region.
Andrew Simms Group is also set to expand BYD’s reach into Southland, with a dedicated showroom planned for Invercargill.
In the Franklin region, Ebbetts Pukekohe will officially join the BYD network from July 1, operating from its premises at 6 Svendsen Road.
Wellington customers will soon gain a centrally located showroom, with Automarque BYD set to open a new dealership at 55 Featherston Street in mid-July. The new CBD site will complement the dealer group’s existing Lower Hutt operation.
Further south, New Zealand’s oldest dealer group, Colonial Motor Company, will join the BYD network through its Adventure Motors business. A new Wairarapa dealership is scheduled to open during the third quarter of 2026, while another new showroom is planned for Hornby in Christchurch.
BYD says the expanded network will provide broader access to vehicle sales, servicing and parts support nationwide while supporting the arrival of additional new models over the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.
