The Chinese car market is huge – it grew 71% last year and is expected to grow a further 30% in 2011, according to The Telegraph.

Here are some of the latest and greatest autombiles from day one of the show in Shanghai…

Audi Q3: Audi is venturing into a new market with the Q3, a premium SUV in compact form.

BMW Concept M5: This athletic-looking “concept” will be in the market later this year.

Citroen DS5: A crossover-like body style with coupe-like features that will house a hybrid engine set-up.

Volkswagen Beetle: Hightech meets tradition with the latest generation Beetle. It also pairs environmental friendlyness with fun factor.

Volvo Concept Universe: This car demonstrates the new design language and the way the Swedes intend to go with its medium and large premium cars.
