Dramatic wedgy styling is the key to Hyundai’s three-door i20 which makes its public appearance at the Geneva motor show.
The three-door’s front and rear are unchanged from the five-door’s, but distinctive crease lines along each side are enhanced by longer front doors and the upswept rear side windows.
Built on the same wheelbase, it’s 10kg lighter than the five-door, so should offer a slight performance increase.
Safety kit includes six airbags – front, side and curtain – plus active head-restraints.
Will we see it here? Probably not, few companies offer three-door cars in a market where the five-door remains supreme. The five-door i20 is due for imminent release in NZ.
