A1 Team New Zealand driver, Chris van der Drift, says his strategy in today’s Sprint and Feature races will be to set a consistent pace and keep to the racing line.

The Holland-based Kiwi, who is contesting only his second race meeting in New Zealand, says the track is very dirty and dusty off the racing line.

Get a wheel on to that dust and you’ll be spinning. He says, too, that the compulsory pitstops in each race will “juggle” things up.

“It’s all about being consistent and stable in the race.” Van der Drift starts the Sprint Race sixth and the feature 10th.

“It could have gone a lot better, for sure,” he said of qualifying. “It could always be better (but the races are) going to be interesting.”
