Diamond awards recognise outstanding Mitsubishi dealers

And on Friday night in Christchurch, at Mitsubishi’s annual black-tie awards event, seven standouts were given the brand’s highest accolade and named ‘Diamond Dealers’ for 2016.

The winners were: Mark Barton (Auckland Motors Mitsubishi), Aaron Chatfield (Bay City Mitsubishi), Simon Lucas (Simon Lucas Mitsubishi), Nigel Rumpler (Piako Mitsubishi Rotorua), Darrell Russell (Piako Mitsubishi Morrinsville), Justin Scelly (Baigent Motors), and Andrew Simms (Andrew Simms Mitsubishi).

“These seven outstanding dealerships epitomise the passion, dedication and customer focus that underpins our national network, and which has driven a sixth consecutive year of growth and 6.3% market share,” said Mitsubishi general manager sales & marketing Warren Brown.

“Our Diamond Dealers have led the way, demonstrating excellence in every aspect of their business. We are extremely proud to award them our highest accolade and give them the peer and market recognition they deserve.”

Following another hotly contested Diamond Dealer programme this year, the network’s most-decorated dealer, Mark Barton of Auckland Motors, took home his 12th consecutive award.

“Mark has consistently delivered everything it takes to be a Diamond Dealer – year-in, year-out,” said Mr Brown. “He has the drive not only to succeed, but to improve and surpass his own very high standards.”

Aaron Chatfield, at the helm of Bay City Mitsubishi in Tauranga for just three years, took home a raft of awards. A Diamond Dealer for the third consecutive year, he also won Overall Parts Excellence, Top Market Share for his region, and Finance People’s Choice.
