Dixon wins Indy Car title

Scott Dixon is the 2008 Indy Car champion, after finishing the Chicagoland race a few minutes ago in a photo-finish with arch-rival Helio Castroneves.

The pair cross the finish line side by side after running three-wide with Australian Ryan Briscoe earlier in the final lap.

Castroneves had to win and Dixon finish lower than eighth for the Brazilian to take the crown.

Kiwi Dixon also won America’s major race, the Indianapolis 500 in May, in his most successful year’s racing yet.

It’s his second Indy Car title.
