New Zealand Drag Racing Association marketing boss, Stuart Roberts, rates the network’s decision as “fantastic news.”
“The New Zealand Drag Racing Association’s Championship television coverage has always rated highly, with figures confirming that people are switching channels to watch drag racing on television.
“For the association to now be in control of its own television time and with TV One, the most highly viewed network, is a huge step forward. “
Roberts says the first programme, scheduled for December 21, will cover the December 7 Prestone Northern Nationals from Fram Autolite Dragway at Meremere.
The Taupo and Ruapuna (Christchurch) rounds of the series will screen in February, with the fourth and fifth rounds – at Masterton and Meremere – going to air in March..
