The speedster, commissioned by Eagle enthusiast Dr Rick Velaj, uses a standard 1966 E-type as its base.
Eagle rebuilt it to a new high specification, encased it in a one-off aluminium bodyshell, fit it with its Supersport options (stiffer suspension, uprated brakes and modern tyres) and dropped in a 4.7-litre six-cylinder engine.
The tuned Jaguar engine reportedly develops 300bhp – a 50% increase over the standard E-type engine of the 1960s – and 340lb ft of torque that kicks in at around 1700rpm.
The car weighs in at less than 1100kg, so races to an estimated sub-5.0sec 0-100kph sprint and a top speed of around 280kph.
The Eagle E-type speedster is a one-off commission for now, designed to let Eagle show off just what its workshop is capable of. So, unfortunately it’s not for sale.
