Equus designed to match Lexus

It has a large multi-media console and premium grade leather trim accented by woodgrain. Hyundai plans to challenge the top Japanese and Euro makes with a car that rivals their luxury, handling and performance but at a much lower price.

The Equus goes on sale in Korea with 216kW 3.8-litre V6 or 280kW V8 engines. A hotter 5.0-litre V8 will follow in a long-wheelbase version.

The rear-wheel drive sedan is 200mm longer and 35mm wider than the Genesis sedan (pictured) that Hyundai sells in America.
