The Infiniti FX Sebastian Vettel is a 309kW V8-powered SUV reportedly capable of reaching 300kph, and will be the Infiniti brand’s equivalent of Mercedes’ AMG or BMW M cars.
It first appeared in concept for at this year’s Frankfurt auto show, and has just been confirmed for production, most likely in limited numbers.
The SUV’s design, engineering and aerodynamics have all been influenced by Red Bull Racing’s German racing star Vettel (24), who this year secured his second consecutive F1 title.
The Red Bull racing team is regarded as the leader in aerodynamics, which will no doubt contribute to the FX’s ability to generate downforce, reduce drag and improve stability.
Based on a stock FX50, the concept at Frankfurt featured a powerful 5-litre V8, producing 414 horsepower, as well as an aggressive rear diffuser, special wheels and carbon-fiber accents.
Specifications for the production vehicle were not announced, so stay tuned…
