Set to be the world’s largest indoor theme park and the first ever Ferrari theme park, it comes complete with a racetrack that will host the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, shops, hotels, attractions and rides. There is also a driving and racing school for junior drivers, with expert training, and an aerial voyage over Italy following a Ferrari.
The park is located on Yas Island, between the coast and city of Abu Dhabi and Dubai. It will include the world’s fastest rollercoaster, travelling over 200kmh, and said to feel like being in a Ferrari F1 car.
The park’s red roof has just been completed, which is said to have been inspired by the classic double curve side profile of the Ferrari GT body. It covers a surface area of 200,000m² (2.15 million square feet) and features the largest “prancing horse” emblem in the world, measuring 66 metres in diameter. It is made from metal and glass designed to reduce glare and heat.
The building has been designed by globally renown architectural firm Benoy, and measures 45m in height, with a roof edge circumference of 2200m. Over 35,000 tonnes of steel has been used to reinforce the structure.
