Several pictures have appeared on the internet of incidents of burnt-out Ferrari 458s, in locations ranging from California to China.
While six of the 10 vehicles were involved in accidents that could have started the fire, three other Ferraris have burst into flames for no apparent reason. The tenth vehicle was destroyed in a warehouse fire, but it remains unclear if the car started the blaze.
One report said the 570hp Ferrari caught fire after “only about 1000 miles on the odometer”.
A Ferrari spokesperson told a UK newspaper: “We are taking all the reports very seriously and are looking into them but we are treating them all as separate incidents.”
