Ferrari has given us a preview of its new 599 SA Aperta, ahead of its public debut at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

The 599 SA Aperta will be limited to just 80 examples, which I’m sorry to report, have already been sold. It was built to celebrate 80 years of Ferrari partner Pininfarina.

The special model is a convertible version of the 59, which Ferrari says has “just a light soft top designed to be resorted to only if the weather gets particularly bad”.

Changes to the SA Aperta include a low-slung windscreen, lowered suspension, and two fins from the integrated roll bars. The chassis has also been stiffened.

The car is equipped with the familiar 6.0-litre V12 producing 493kW (661hp), the same as the recently announced 599 GTO.
