NZ V8s title contender Angus Fogg says his aim in today’s second heat of the three-heat round at Teretonga Park, Invercargill, will be to score as many points as possible to keep his chances alive.

Fogg starts the Caltex Havoline Ford Falcon from the outside of the front row at a track that is being lashed by cold winds and even the odd hailstone shower.

Series leader John McIntyre will start from the back of the grid in his BP Ultimate Ford.

Fogg’s second place in yesterday’s opening race has taken him to 55 points behind McIntyre with one grid start and the reverse grid race to run.

“It’s a matter of getting as many points as we can get,” says Fogg.

“Johnny has such a great lead, and the reverse grid race will help him.”

He says his car is not “100 percent. We’re battling understeer.”
