The Ford Focus ST, a replacement for the XR5 Turbo, will make its debut at the Paris Motor Show later this month. It may be known as the XR4 here in NZ.
It features an aerodynamic body kit with rear spoiler, a large black air intake, ‘Tangerine Scream’ paint, and a centre-mounted dual exhaust system. Inside, the cockpit boasts two-tone leather sport seats, contrast stitching, a row of gauges on top of the dash, and faux carbon fibre trim.
Power is provided by a 2.0-litre EcoBoost four-cylinder engine that will produce 184kW (247hp) – an increase of 22kW over the current model. It will be sent to the fron twheels via a six-spped manual gearbox, or a Powershift dual-clutch auto.
Ford says the car delivers “…an intoxicating cocktail of exhilarating performance and handling accompanied by an addictive sound”.
