Co-driver Andrew Waite started the race, and after a slick driver change, handed the #31 Valvoline/Autotrader.co.nz/ReplayXD/Shelby Auto Care backed Falcon over to Daniel Gaunt mid way through the race.
Having rejoined the race just outside the top ten, the teams pre race strategy to tune the car to come on in the later stages saw Gaunt quickly make up a number of places, eventually finishing 7th.
Team Principal Steve Horne says he’s pleased with the team’s progress this weekend, in what is only their third event of the season.
“We’re working towards a good starting position for the feature race on Sunday afternoon,” says Team Principal Steve Horne.
“If we can move up a few more positions in the next race, we’ll be in good shape for the final one.”
