Incorporating sporty and sophisticated styling features and a host of clever storage compartments, the Trax is designed to meet the needs of the emerging segment of small SUV buyers.

Holden Chief Designer Richard Ferlazzo said the new addition to the range has a fun and energetic appearance that captures the key design elements synonymous with Holden.

“Trax is designed for modern, active individuals, people in the market for a vehicle that is an extension of their lifestyle and personality and also features high seating positions and an athletic exterior,” Mr Ferlazzo said.

“Trax has a strong road presence, conveying agility and movement with a well-planted confident stance.”

Exterior Design

Trax looks like a true small SUV by combining muscular surface treatments, particularly at the fenders, hood and rear quarter panels.

Up front, the pronounced grille instantly identifies the all-new Trax as a member of the Holden family. The hood surface features a subtle centre line cease with crisp outboard scallops.

Dual halogen headlamps carry detailed chrome interior bezel surface work, providing visual strength and presence. Body coloured door handles with chrome strip inserts on the LTZ offer a touch of sophistication. A rearward-swept roofline includes bright finished spoiler with integrated LED brake lights.

Trax’ confidence stance is characterised by its pronounced wheel arches which help deliver an aggressive stance. Sporty alloy wheels feature Holden’s traditional five-spoke design, available in 16 or 18 inch size on the LS and LTZ respectively.

Interior Design

Modern design cues and a well-organised cabin characterise the interior of the Holden Trax. Front and centre is the integrated stack with Holden’s MyLink infotainment system featuring a seven inch colour touch-screen.

The instrument cluster benefits from ice blue illumination integrated into the dash as well as various control interfaces and knobs. The instrument cluster incorporates an analogue tachometer, digital LED backlit speedometer, odometer and trip meter.

The three-spoke leather wrap steering wheel has a thicker rim section for enhanced grip and feel and incorporates controls for cruise control, Bluetooth, Siri Eyes Free mode and audio functions.

A host of storage compartments are intuitively positioned including two glove boxes, one which contains outlets for USB and auxiliary devices. Unique pockets on either side of the centre stack and upper instrument panel can hold smaller items like wallets and personal devices.

A 60/40 split-folding rear seat offers versatility and a roomy and flexible cargo space. Two storage bins located under the cargo area compartment floor add more out of sight storage. The rear seat row incorporates a regular 240V socket that can be used for recharging laptops and other electronic devices without the need for an adaptor.

Helping to create a sense of style, comfort and space are the textured materials, soft-touch finishes, accent stitching and Holden’s signature dual cockpit.

Two interior trim combinations are available: Jet Black cloth comes standard on the LS and Jet Black Sportec is offered on the LTZ.

The Trax exterior colour palette features eight choices, which are:
