The next generation mid-size ute concept from GM was unveiled ahead of its debut at the Bangkok motor show later this year.

The chunky concept truck features a prominent grille, muscular guards, polished aluminum accents, and LED head and tail lights. Elsewhere, there’s a body-colour tonneau cover and 20-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tyres.

Chevrolet’s global vehicle line executive Brad Merkel said: “Although this is a show vehicle, the basic proportions convey the vision for the next-generation Colorado that we will bring to market.”

The Colorado in concept form features a 2.8-litre turbodiesel engine, five-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive. General Motors claims the new model produces a broad torque band to help it lug big loads with ease.

The all-new cabin area is reportedly high quality and has a motorcycle-inspired instrument cluster, leather seats, dark wood trim, and chrome accents. Other highlights include a dual-zone climate control system and an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen display.
