The Insight ranked as the industry’s best-selling car among new vehicle registrations in Japan for the month of April 2009, with 10,481 of the car sold.
At the same time, Honda is also celebrating the success of its Honda Fit in Japan (marketed in New Zealand as the Honda Jazz). The Honda Fit was the Japanese vehicle industry’s best-selling car among new vehicle registrations in Japan for calendar year 2008 and the fiscal year ended 31 March, 2009.
It is the first time Honda has occupied Japan’s top two best-selling car positions.
Honda says since its introduction on 6 February, 2009, the all-new Insight has been well received by a range of customers due to its “excellent environmental performance, easy-to-use packaging, light and comfortable driving and affordable pricing”.
