The four-seater FCX Clarity runs on electricity produced by combining hydrogen with oxygen and emits only water vapour.
Honda says it’s twice as energy-efficient as a petrol-electric hybrid and is three times more fuel-efficient than a traditional, petrol-powered car. The Honda V Flow fuel cell stack powers the Clarity’s motor.
Honda launched the Clarity in America in July and Hollywood star Jamie Lee-Curtis was one of the first people to lease one.
The limiting factor on making fuel cell cars like the Clarity more widely available is the lack of hydrogen filling stations.
