The Hyundai ix35 has won top honours in the Compact Crossover SUV Class at the 2010 AutoPacific Vehicle Satisfaction Awards.

The award measures the satisfaction of new car and SUV owners.

Hyundai says the ix35 launched late last year in the USA (as the Tucson) and has notched up a huge 170% sales growth year-on-year.

“The Vehicle Satisfaction Awards are an important indicator that Hyundai is hitting the mark when it comes to pleasing buyers around the world,” said Chief Operating Officer of Hyundai New Zealand, Tom Ruddenklau.

“We will continue to do so with Kiwi owners, with last month’s release of the i45 sedan to be followed by an all-new i20 small car later this year and numerous exciting new models to follow,” he said.

The Satisfaction Awards study, conducted by the Southern California-based automotive research firm, summarises the results of a survey conducted by 42,000 plus new car owners.

Respondents to the survey are owners of 2010 model-year cars and SUVs, and rate 48 different attributes which objectively measure the ownership experience for importance, from the initial purchase decision through to satisfaction post-purchase.
