Hyundai will display two models at the Melbourne show from its new blue sub-brand which it will use globally to designate low-emission vehicles.
The first to wear the blue label will be the i30 blue which Hyundai builds in its factory at Nosovice in the Czech Republic.
It has Hyundai’s first ISG (Idle Stop and Go) technology which automatically switches the engine off when the car is stationary.
The ISG system uses an advanced starter motor connected to the ECU, which monitors the car’s status at all times.
In Hyundai’s 1.6-litre petrol engine it cuts fuel consumption by seven percent on the official European combined cycle while achieving a lower CO2 rating of 142 grams/km, compared to the standard engine’s 152 grams/km.
Hyundai will show the 130 and i10 blue in Melbourne.
