The YF has been designed to replace the Sonata, and Hyundai NZ National Sales Manager Tom Ruddenklau says its new design and performance means this model will be key in taking the Hyundai brand to the next level.
“The YF is a model codename and the name plate of the model will be determined shortly after extensive market research is completed. We expect to launch the YF early in 2010, and it is highly likely we will see a continuation of the i-series naming convention.”
Six airbags, ESP stability control, Brake Assist and Hill-start Assist Control are all standard. Additionally, the new sedan is built with hot-stamped ultra-high-strength steel to optimise structural strength and reduce weight.
Ruddenklau says, “We are confident New Zealanders are going to love this new model as much as they loved the successful i-30 (Supreme Winner in the 2009 AA Motoring Excellence Awards).
“The YF is part of the new model onslaught from Hyundai Motor Company and it incorporates everything that our customers look for in a vehicle – excellent fuel efficiency, state of the art technology and an elegant new design. We are looking forward to it landing on our shores in the near future.”
