Ireland’s Adam Carroll has dominated qualifying for the A1GP races at Taupo tomorrow and is in pole for both the Sprint and Feature races.
Outside him both times is Holland’s Robert Doornbos.
Carroll was fastest in the Feature Race, qualifying, stopping the clocks at 1m 14.411s.
Doornbos lapped at 1m 14.843s. Portugal’s Filipe Albuquerque will start third, ahead of Australian John Martin.
Kiwi Chris van der Drift will start 10th, and says the team is now concentrating on getting the car into race trim.
His aim during the races will be to be consistent and concentrate on keeping the car on the track. “It’s so dusty off (the racing line) that if you make a mistake or put a wheel off…”
