Kia Carens gets nod as a best buy

And it has added the eight-seat Kia Carnival full-sized MPV and Rio hatch to its list of recommended vehicles.

Consumer Guide says its Best Buy award goes to vehicles it considers have the best balance of attributes and price within their class and are a best choice for buyers.

It says the Carens offers outstanding value, well-structured and roomy interior, comfortable ride and exceptional safety features, including stability control and curtain airbags.

It says the Carnival and Rio offer outstanding value and standard equipment packages.

Kia sells all three in New Zealand, the Carens only as a diesel, the Carnival only as a petrol V6 (though a diesel is on the way) and the Rio with a choice of petrol or diesel engines.
