Kia’s design direction took a new turn in 2006 when it appointed former Audi-VW designer, Peter Schreyer, as its chief designer. He has led the establishment of a global design network that includes bureaux in North America and Germany as well as Korea.

Kia says the award is another stepping stone in its efforts to “infuse our creative design spirit” throughout the whole business and not just limited to product styling.

Kia’s design future is hinted at by the Kee coupe show car (pictured).
