Lexus has announced the launch of its limited-edition LFA Nurburgring package, which Toyota’s premium brand says is “designed to appeal to customers seeking full-blooded track performance”.

Key features on the new Nürburgring package include enhanced aerodynamics and downforce, thanks to a fixed rear wing, a larger front spoiler and fin-type side spoilers, all made from carbon fiber. The suspension also has been retuned and mesh-type wheels fitted with high-grip rubber.

Maximum power from the mid-front-mounted 4.8-litre V10 engine has been increased by 10bhp to more than 562bhp and gear shifts in the six-speed sequential transmission have been cut to just 0.15 seconds.

Now 0-62mph acceleration is 3.7 seconds and a top speed is bumped up to 202mph.

Just 50 LFA will be available with the Nürburgring package, within the car’s limited global production run of 500 examples.

Lexus will provide those 50 customers with individual driving lessons on the Nordschleife from the Nurburgring’s instructors, as well as a one-year driving pass to the German track.
