Mazda says the new BT-50 is “presented as an ‘active lifestyle vehicle’ that overturns the conventional image of a compact pickup truck with modern and refined styling”.
The new model was developed from the ground up as a brand new type of vehicle.
“The BT-50 has truly evolved and will set new standards in the New Zealand ute market by combining the size and performance of a utility with the comfort and style of a passenger vehicle. It’s a combination that I think will appeal to a wide variety of drivers,” says Andrew Clearwater, Managing Director, Mazda New Zealand.
Another significant debut from Mazda at this year’s Australian International Motor Show is its range of next-generation SKY Concept*1 powertrains, designed to reduce overall average fuel economy levels by 30% by 2015 when compared with 2008 levels.
The show will be opened to the public from 5pm on Friday October 15.
