Following hot on the heels of the mischievous Evil Twin, Mazda New Zealand will release the second Special Edition Mazda2 in June 2011.

Dubbed Retro, this next Mazda2 special edition features funky red and white body graphics together with custom silver body parts that “offer a nostalgic trip through automotive styling cues of the 60s and 70s”.

Only 25 New Zealanders will be able to purchase the Mazda2 Retro Special Edition which will come in a choice of manual or automatic transmission.

“Our first special edition model Mischief was released in March and the cars were snapped up quickly by drivers wanting to own a unique piece of Mazda history. This next custom model, Retro, is another striking extension of the Mazda2 design personality and we expect it to be just as popular” says Andrew Clearwater, Managing Director of Mazda New Zealand.

The Mazda2 Retro model boasts Mazda’s five-star safety features including Dynamic Stability Control System (DSC) and Traction Control System (TCS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Emergency Brake Assistance (EBA) as well as front, side and curtain SRS airbags.

Every Mazda2, including the Retro special edition, comes standard with mazdacare, which comprises a Mazda Genuine Factory Warranty and Mazda On Call Roadside Assistance for a three year, unlimited kilometre period and Genuine Mazda Servicing for 3 years/ 100,000 kilometres (whichever occurs first) at no extra cost.
