According to Autoblog, Nissan’s uprated GT-R will beat its own Nürburgring lap time, and take on the new Porsche 911 GT2 RS.

The twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6 has apparently been retuned, now putting out over 500hp (373kW) and 610Nm (compared with 353kW and 588Nm for the current model).

Autoblog also suggests that the updated GT-R debuts a reworked aero package, as well as tweaks to the brakes and suspension.

“The exterior updates will likely be limited to a new front splitter, rear diffuser and a revised wing, all in an effort to increase downforce and drop lap times,” reports Autoblog.

The 2012 Nissan GT-R will go on sale globally from early next year.
