The Audi R8 GT Spyder features a 5.2-litre FSI V10 powerplant, producing 412kW (552hp) and 540Nm (398.28 lb-ft) of torque.
Gear changes are handled by the R tronic sequential manual transmission, and it can operate in Normal, Sport and ‘manual’ modes.
Curb weight on the Spyder is 1640kg, which is 85kg less than on the R8 Spyder 5.2 FSI Quattro upon which it is based. The GT Spyder makes use of carbon-fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) for several body panels as well as glass fiber-reinforced polymer (GFRP) for the seats to reduce weight.
The R8 GT Spyder goes from 0 to 100kmh in 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 317kmh.
Visual modifications include additional titanium grey trim elements, a front splitter with a dual lip, flics at the sides of the front bumper, red GT badges, round exhaust tailpipes, an enlarged diffuser and dark LED tail lights in a clear-glass design. An optional windscreen frame in matte CFRP is also available.
Like the R8 GT coupe, the GT Spyder will be limited to just 333 units.
