Performance has been boosted by way of a straight-six engine with twin turbo, high precision injection, BMW’s seven-speed sport automatic with double clutch, and am M Sport package.
BMW says the new technology means the 3.0-litre engine will now produce 250kw/340hp at 5800rpm and a peak torque of 450Nm at 1400rpm – 500Nm with the overboost function.
The roadster will reportedly accelerate from standstill to 100kph in 4.8 seconds.
Other features include special 18-inch five-spoke alloy rims, electric power steering, new front bumper design with matt aluminium air intakes, two-piece diffuser at the rear bumper, leather steering wheel with gearshift paddles, sports seats, grey-faced dials on the instrument cluster, and sDrive35is designation on the floormats. It will also be available in a new colour – Melbourne Red metallic.
