The all-new Ford Ranger ute will be unveiled on 15 October, 2010 at the Australian International Motor Show.
The new Ranger is the latest in a wave of global products driven by the ONE Ford strategy. Designed and engineered at Ford’s Campbellfield headquarters in Victoria, it is based on a new global compact truck platform.
The ute has been undegoing testing for a few years now, and Ford says it has clocked up over one million kilometres in Australia, the Middle East and the European Alps.
Ford says a new family of engines will deliver gains in power and fuel economy, and the model will include “exceptional towing and payload capacity”.
You can’t judge its looks from the teaser shot provided, but the three-bar grille is a fresh, distinctive feature.
Ford will also use the motor show to take the covers off a new Fiesta sedan, a hot hatch RS version of its Focus small car, and the latest supercharged V8 Falcons from Ford Performance Vehicles.
