The Peugeot 508 will compete in the large car market in New Zealand when it launches here in early June.

The three model variants available are:

  • 508 Sedan 2.0-litre HDi $54,990
  • 508 SW 2.0-litre HDi $57,990
  • 508 GT Sedan 2.2-litre HDi $65,990

Available in two body styles, the saloon and station wagon, the 508 replaces the 407 and 607.

The 508 highlights the French marque’s new “design language”, with a long sculpted aluminium bonnet, wide grille, and headlights that run deep into the wings. There’s also a pronounced shoulder line that runs the length of the flanks.

The saloon is 4.7m long, around 10mm longer than the 407 but 20mm shorter than the 607. The station wagon is 4.81m long.

“The new 508 range will command attention immediately from buyers looking for all the space and comfort of a medium / large car without compromising on fuel efficiency and low emissions” said Simon Rose, Divisional Manager of Peugeot New Zealand.

“Not only will the 508 be priced very competitively against its traditional European rivals – with all the luxury and refinement expected in its class – but it will bring a host of smart technologies that quite literally elevate the art of car making to a whole new level.”
