The peugeot 4008 is born of the PSA/Mitsubishi partnership, but has a strong Peugeot identity demonstrated by the floating grille and the “feline” lamp units with a line of LED daylight running lamps, and three sculpted red claws making up the rear lamps.
Other exterior highlights include a vertical grille design, body sill protectors, 18-inch wheels, chromed components and a panoramic glass roof.
Inside you’ll find a touch screen navigation system and reversing camera.
There will be four engines available: a 1.6L petrol (85kW/116hp) and 2.0L petrol (113kW/150hp), both mated to a 5 speed manual, optional CVT with the 2-litre; and 1.6L (82kW/112hp) or 1.8L (110kW/150hp) diesel, both mated to a 6-speed manual.
In four-wheel-drive versions the driver can select three transmission modes: “2WD”, “4WD” and “LOCK” locking on four-wheel-drive. In both four-wheel-drive modes the distribution of the torque between the front and the rear is managed electronically. In LOCK mode the four-wheel drive transmission becomes permanent, with greater distribution of torque to the rear wheels.
The platform of the 4008, taken in part from the 4007, has been reduced in length with shorter front and rear overhangs, down by 30cm. Its long wheelbase and its wide front and rear track have been retained to guarantee maximum occupant space. It measures 4.34m long, 1.80m wide with a height of 1.63m.
