The re-styled Fabia has an accentuated radiator grille, and has five centimetres greater rear seat headroom than its predecessor.
The driving position is higher, giving a better view and easier ingress and egress. The new Fabia offers all occupants more knee and foot room.
At launch there will be two engine options – a 1.4 TDi diesel with 59kW of power and 195Nm of torque and a 1.6 6-speed Tiptronic automatic with 77kW and 153Nm.
Standard equipment on both models includes six airbags, ABS brakes, ASR traction control, a vehicle immobiliser, fog lamps, and Isofix fittings in the rear seats); a high level of comfort (air conditioning, heated exterior door mirrors, chilled glovebox, adjustable armrest, and a multi-function trip computer), alloy wheels – 14-inch on 1.4 TDI and 15-inch on 1.6 – rear parking sensors, an eight-speaker CD stereo with input for an iPod and many different storage features.
The 1.6 automatic also includes, as standard equipment, an anti theft alarm, Electronic Stability Programme, tyre pressure monitoring, climatronic (fully automatic) air conditioning, maxi dot information display, multi-function controls for stereo on the steering column and side mouldings.
The 1.4 TDi will be priced at $27,990, and the 1.6 automatic at $29,990.
