NordEast Vehicle Distributors is going nationwide, with two new dealerships joining the network as interest in the Geely, Zeekr and Farizon brands increases.

Robertson Motor Group opened a new Geely, Zeekr and Farizon dealership in Palmerston North on 2 June, while Christchurch’s well-known Cockram Motor Limited will launch a Geely and Farizon outlet in Nelson on 1 July.

The expansion comes off the back of significant growth for the Chinese-owned Geely Group brands locally. NordEast Group General Manager Dane Fisher says Geely sales are up 551 per cent year-on-year.

“As more New Zealanders embrace electrified mobility, our nationwide presence will expand to meet that demand, supported by our trusted partners,” Fisher says.

Farizon is also gaining traction on the commercial side, with the first five shipments of the all-electric V7E van reportedly pre-sold ahead of arrival.

In Nelson, Cockram Motor Limited says strong local EV uptake made the call to add Geely and Farizon an easy one.

“We are proud partners of the Giltrap Group across multiple brands, and adding Geely and Farizon to our portfolio was a natural next step given the strong demand we’re seeing in the region. We see significant growth potential for both brands in Nelson and the wider Tasman region,” a Cockram spokesperson says.
