Developed using Jaguar’s lightweight aluminium architecture, the new F-PACE combines purity of line, surface and proportion with F-TYPE inspired features such as the powerful rear haunches, fender vents and distinctive tail light graphics.

A vehicle of design firsts, the F-PACE is Jaguar’s first performance crossover, first aluminium-intensive model in its class and first among rivals for boot volume, cabin width, rear knee room and ease of rear access. Throw your essentials into the F-PACE and enjoy everyday usability in a concept car body.

Active relaxers taking a break from busy schedules can keep the pace with the Jaguar’s Activity Key. A waterproof, shockproof wristband with an integrated transponder that allows the keyfob to be locked securely inside the vehicle, making the Jaguar Activity Key the go-to for surfers, kayakers and everyone in between. There’s no battery either, which means no hassle having to charge it time and again.

Hit the transit lane in style in the F-PACE, which seats five occupants in absolute comfort. The interior is a perfect blend of premium materials and finishes, exquisite detailing, luxuries such as heated, electrically-reclining rear seats, and cutting-edge technologies including the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system and 12.3-inch HD virtual instrument cluster.

And if stats are your thing – here’s your numbers fix: the 132kW diesel weighs 1,775kg and achieves CO2 emissions of just 139g/km. With the 280kW supercharged V6 petrol engine from the F-TYPE under its sculpted aluminium bonnet, the all-new F-PACE can accelerate from 0-100km/h in just 5.5 seconds before reaching an electronically-limited top speed of 250km/h.

The All-New F-PACE sets the benchmark for ride and handling, with an optional Configurable Dynamics feature that allows individual settings for the throttle, transmission and steering. The vehicle is also engineered for exceptionally low lift and excellent lift balance front-to-rear, resulting in better steering feel and stability at higher speeds, allowing you to ride safely and in style.

The F-PACE has been engineered to satisfy the most stringent safety standards worldwide. The state-of-the-art stereo camera at the heart of the Autonomous Emergency Braking system now features a pedestrian detection function – a Jaguar-first. Key information such as vehicle speed and speed limits can be projected directly into the driver’s line of sight by the optional laser head-up display, with the images remaining clear even in bright sunlight.

If the conditions are challenging, the F-PACE’s torque on-demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system is Jaguar’s most sophisticated yet. Adaptive Surface Response (ASR), developed from Land Rover’s patented, award-winning Terrain Response technology, makes the AWD system even more effective in hazardous driving conditions.

The F-PACE also offers equally advanced infotainment and connectivity technology for those wanting the additional option. The InControl Touch Pro system is based around a 10.2-inch touchscreen that offers an intuitive user interface and navigation system.

Jaguar director of design, Ian Callum, says the new F-PACE is versatile and equipped with real-world answers to everyday questions. The F-PACE is an all-weather, all-surface Jaguar sports car, life-proofed for five people and their belongings,” he says.

“By remaining true to our design principles the all-new F-PACE is immediately recognisable as a Jaguar. It offers all of the interior space you would expect – and more – but because of our disciplined approach to surfaces, proportions, and purity of line, we have designed what I consider to be the most balanced, most attractive vehicle in its class.”

To celebrate the launch of the new F-PACE, a special edition model known as ‘First Edition’ will be available in strictly limited numbers – just 1700 worldwide. Powered by the 280kW supercharged V6 petrol engine, the First Edition is distinguished by its unique metallic paint colour; Caesium Blue.

The general manager for Jaguar Land Rover Steve Kenchington says Kiwis will have the opportunity to purchase five of the 1700 limited edition cars and will be able to pre order them.

“This is an exciting opportunity not just for Jaguar enthusiasts throughout the country, but anyone that is looking for sports car performance combined with SUV practicality. The F-PACE is one of the most highly anticipated models the brand has seen and we anticipate the First Edition models will sell quickly.”

Set to land mid-2016 pricing for the new F-PACE range includes the F-PACE Prestige (starting at $95,000), F-PACE R-Sport ($100,000), F-PACE S ($125,000) and F-PACE First Edition ($165,000).
